Agustin “PAPO” DeJesus was born and raised in the City of Trenton, New Jersey. In the 1970’s, Papo was one of the few Latinos who played basketball and he was the first Latino to make “Jr. High School All Mercer County First Team”. In the 1980’s he coached St. Mary’s Cathedral Jr. Basketball Team to a 1st place finish in the CYO Catholic League. He also played football and ran track. |

 Marlene Lao-Collins is Director for Social Concerns for the New Jersey Catholic Conference, which is the public policy organization for the Catholic Bishops of the New Jersey. In this position, which she has held since August, 1999, Ms. Lao-Collins makes recommendations to the bishops on policy issues; testifies at public and legislative hearings; and works collaboratively with numerous state agencies and statewide advocacy groups on affordable housing, public assistance, poverty, child care, child welfare, health care and immigration. |
